2020 Summer Reading Program

Children's Online Book Log                            Teen Online Book Log                          Adult Online Book Log

For Kids:

Kids (with caregiver assistance) can fill out a summer reading book log either on paper or online. Paper book logs can be picked up and dropped off at the library. Each week, we will pull a random winner from the submitted book logs and the winner will receive a $10 gift card to Merritt Bookstore.

But wait, there’s more!

For 6 weeks, the library will put out activity bags for kids that will help them use their imagination and develop literacy skills at the same time.

Each bag will have a simple recipe, a craft (as supplies last), a scavenger hunt, and a writing/drawing prompt to help kids imagine and share their own stories.

Each week will have a different theme. At the end of each week, kids can bring their stories and drawings to the library and they will be combined into a book that will be part of the library’s collection.

The library will also have a prize cart where children can pick out a free book to enjoy.

For Teens:

Participate in our Online Summer Reading Program by reading ANY book OR listening to an audiobook and writing a review.

ALL program participants will receive 1 ice cream gift card from Stewart’s Shops!

Fill out a paper form or an online form and complete a short review of the book. Describe what it was about, what you liked about it, and what you didn’t. For each written review, you will receive a weekly chance to win a $25 gift card to the Merritt Bookstore!

For Adults:

Adults deserve summer fun too!

Fill out a paper form or an online form whenever you complete a book this summer. Each week we will be holding a drawing for a $25 gift card to two local businesses! Every book that you enter each week gives you another chance to win.
